We would not be able to provide services to clients if it was not for the continued dedication and hard work of our volunteers.

They work tirelessly loading and unloading, stocking, sorting, and packaging to distribute food twice daily, three days a week to our clients.
Our volunteers also help our clients to take their food to the car, rain or shine!
Volunteers are needed to pack food boxes on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Come for a couple hours or the whole morning from 6am to 11am.
Some seniors and disabled persons rely on our team of volunteers for home delivery. Your own transportation, insurance, and license needed.Â
We need volunteers from Indio, Desert Hot Springs, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, La Quinta, Morongo and Indian Wells.
Â
Come on out to DHS and help us feed those in need.
Â
We offer college credits and community service hours!
Long before the sun comes up, Food Now is already buzzing with activity.
By 6:00 am, our incredible volunteers are hard at work, packing boxes with crisp vegetables, hearty canned goods, lentils and beans, sweet dried fruit, and fresh-baked bread or rolls.
By 7:00 am, cars begin to wrap around the building — each one representing a family looking for a little help and a lot of hope.Â
Â
At check-in, a friendly team member with a WiFi-enabled laptop makes the process quick and easy. Then, as each box makes its way from the warehouse to a waiting car, we add fresh protein like chicken, wholesome dairy, and — on the best days — extra treats from local grocery stores’ bakery departments. Those unexpected goodies bring smiles every time.

Most families visit us for 8 to 10 weeks before they’re able to get back on their feet. But while the food nourishes bodies, the real gift is knowing that neighbors care for neighbors.
Â
Want to be part of this? We’re always looking for more volunteers to share the joy of serving others.Â
